/// App Splitting Is a New Trend, and It Might Not Be a Good Thing
Some apps are about to be split into two or more. And according to The Washington Post, that’s not a good thing.
For example, “Foursquare is “unbundling” its check-in and social networking features to a new app called Swarm. The old Foursquare will focus on location-based reviews in an effort to take on Yelp.” The point of this is to appeal to two types of users. One type wants to connect with friends, while the other just wants to know about the best businesses near them so they can share them with friends. But some think it’s not about pleasing different groups of users; they claim it’s more about getting higher valuation for the company.
