In the coming weeks, any LinkedIn user will be able to publish content on the site. While LinkedIn’s owners obviously think this is a good idea, Quartz explained why it might not be.
Through the influencer program and expert blog posts, hundreds of influential people have had the chance to write for the site, and many have gained followers. But now, LinkedIn’s 277 million users will have the opportunity to add their content to the mix, and it might not all be valuable. It could be self serving or riddled with typos and inaccurate information. Officials at LinkedIn have argued that such content would immediately fail because the good content would rise to the top.
