Jorge Espinel is Head of Global Business Development at Spotify. Prior to Spotify, Jorge was EVP, Strategy & Corporate Development of 21st Century Fox’s Digital Media Group working on over-the-top video initiatives such as Hulu, partnerships with the leading digital companies, and overseeing digital investments such as Roku, Photobucket and Rubicon Project. He joined from Velocity Interactive Group(recently renamed Fuse Capital), a leading digital media investment firm in New York City. Previously, Jorge was head of AOL’s Corporate Strategy and M&A driving corporate development activities, crafting business strategies, managing AOL’s key strategic relationships, and leading the M&A transactions such as Third Screen Media, Tacoda, Adtech, Yeda and Quigo.
Jorge worked early in his career at Booz Allen & Hamilton’s premier media and entertainment practice. He specialized on cable & broadcasting, magazine publishing and digital media. During his tenure, he advised a broad range of the leading media companies, including Viacom, NBC, EMI, Universal, Hearst Magazines, Bertelsmann
Jorge earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School, and a BA in International Relations from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
