/// Shooting in SOMA at Same Building as Airbnb Leaves Two Dead
A shooting in San Francisco’s startup-filled SOMA district on Friday afternoon has reportedly left two dead, with the police continuing to search for suspects. Local news affiliates are reporting an attempted robbery at the San Francisco jewelry mart, which is in the basement of 888 Brannan, the same building where Airbnb relocated its headquarters just two weeks ago. A source at Airbnb said the company is OK and a formal statement will be forthcoming. Also within a block of the location are the offices for Pinterest and Zynga, as well as the SF Concourse Exhibition Center, where many tech conferences are held. Startup employees including Pinterest’s Jason Costa are tweeting photos and updates from their offices, where they have been ordered to stay in place.
