Jo Confino is an executive editor of the Guardian and chairman and editorial director of Guardian Sustainable Business.

As a journalist for the past 25 years, he has worked on regional and national newspapers and websites. He was Wall Street correspondent for the Daily Telegraph and subsequently finance and business news editor for the Guardian. Jo currently leads the strategic development of the Guardian Sustainable Business website, as well as chairing events, writing stories and creating films and podcasts. He set up and continues to manage a unique multi-stakeholder development project in the Ugandan village of Katine (guardian.co.uk/Katine), which led to the creation of the Guardian global development website (guardian.co.uk/global-development), which he helps manage. Jo created an led the Guardian’s sustainability vision and strategy for a decade, including launching one of the world’s first interactive sustainability reporting websites (guardian.co.uk/sustainability). He has completed an MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice at the University of Bath and is also a qualified executive coach. Jo is on the advisory board of the University of Edinburgh’s sustainable business unit and is a trustee of two charities; Theatre for a Change and Chance for Change.
