Microsoft on Wednesday said that finance executive Amy Hood is taking over as CFO, effective immediatly. Hood replaces Peter Klein, who last month announced plans to step down . “Amy brings the right talents and experiences to the role as we continue to strengthen our focus on devices and services,” CEO Steve Ballmer said in a statement. The 41-year-old Hood has been at Microsoft for just more than a decade, most recently serving as financial chief for the unit that includes Office. With the move, Hood becomes the first woman to serve as financial chief. Microsoft also named Julie Larson-Green and Tami Reller to head the Windows business, also marking the first time that unit was not headed by a man.
