Joel Johnson, is a veteran brand builder, with over twenty years at leading ad agencies in New York, London and Washington, DC. As Chief Marketing Officer of Trout Unlimited (TU), the leading coldwater conservation and advocacy nonprofit, Joel stewards brand growth with integrated communications across partner marketing, digital, public relations and TU’s many media channels.  A few of TU’s major corporate partners include Tiffany’s, Orvis, Telos, and Coca-Cola Co. Prior to TU, Joel worked as SVP, Strategic Planning at GMMB, a Washington D.C. -based advocacy firm on campaigns to curb childhood obesity and end hunger in the US. In previous senior leadership roles at major agencies including Porter Novelli, Sapient and several DDB shops, Joel lead brand strategy for Gillette, Pepsi, and HP among other Fortune 500 brands. He received his undergraduate degree at Swarthmore College and Master’s degree from the Communications School at Northwestern University.
