The newest iPad software gives users a free clock app. But it may have cost Apple millions. According to a Swiss news report , Apple is paying out $21 million to settle a copyright dispute with SBB, the Swiss railway operator that owns the design for this iconic station clock . That same design appeared to show up , uncredited, in the new iPad app that Apple rolled out in its iOS 6 software in September. Last month SBB announced it had reached a licensing deal that would allow Apple to use the design in iPads and iPhones , but didn’t disclose any details.
