/// No, That Amazing Hurricane Sandy Photo Isn’t Real

October 29, 2012  |  All Things Digital

People! It’s 2012, and many of you should know better. This sort of thing might seem convincing to Iranian propagandists , but the rest of us know about Photoshop, right? No? In any case: This photo of the Statue of Liberty and an Emmerichian storm isn’t real . So, if you want to share it on Facebook and Twitter, best to write FAKE somewhere in the comment field. There’s going to be plenty of amazing photography coming in the next few days. Why not stick with the real stuff? “It is traditional, when the U.S. is menaced by a weather event, for people to tweet pictures of things that aren’t it.” More excellent commentary from “ Is Twitter Wrong .”
