/// Google Picks Up German Photography Outfit Nik Software
Google on Monday acquired Nik Software , the sixteen-year-old German software company behind the popular Snapseed iOS photo application. Snapseed is akin to Facebook’s Instagram, with heavy use of filters and photo manipulation. The deal, which was first reported by The Verge , could most likely mean beefing up Google+’s mobile photo assets on the company’s social platform, which already heavily emphasizes photography. Terms of the deal, namely the acquisition price, were not disclosed.
