Motorola Solutions — the Motorola not owned by Google — has agreed to acquire British mobile computing outfit Psion . Price: $200 million in cash, or $1.36-per-share — a 45 percent premium over Psion’s closing price on Thursday. The deal will bring to an end Psion’s 32-year history as an independent company, though its ruggedized mobile computing products and in-car terminals will evidently live on in Motorola Solutions’ Enterprise Mobile Computing business. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
