By Ben Worthen, Reporter, The Wall Street Journal New Hewlett-Packard Co. Chief Executive Leo Apotheker inherited a company in tumult. His predecessor, Mark Hurd, resigned in August following an investigation into an allegation of sexual harassment, which Mr. Hurd denied. HP’s board was then broadly criticized for forcing out an executive who was popular with investors, if not the company’s employees. Since November, when he assumed the top job at the world’s biggest technology company by revenue, Mr. Apotheker has worked to put the scandal behind the company.
