/// Paramount taps Schwartz for ‘Fun Size’
Film News: Teen comedy will be helmer’s big screen debut — Paramount’s tapped Josh Schwartz for his big-screen directing debut on teen comedy “Fun Size” through his Par-based Fake Empire banner and Anonymous Content. Schwartz, whose worked extensively in TV as the showrunner on “The O.C.” and co-creator of “Gossip Girl” and “Chuck,” will produce with partner Stephanie Savage. Par picked up Max Werner’s “Fun Size” script in the first project set up for the youth-oriented Fake Empire after the shingle opened its doors. Story centers on a teenager who loses her brother after being forced to take him out for trick-or-treating on Halloween. Fake Empire and producer Roy Lee announced last August that they were mounting the bigscreen adaptation of Joe Schreiber’s upcoming young-adult novel “Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick” for Par. Schwartz and Savage used their discretionary fund to buy the rights to “European Chick,” about a high schooler whose family hosts an Eastern European exchange student who happens to be an assassin.
